With a sophisticated Japanese-Peruvian menu and striking steampunk-style interiors, Amelia Restaurant & Lounge is fast becoming known as a must-visit dining spot in Downtown Dubai.
With roots in Beirut, the lounge-restaurant has now found a home in Address Sky View, and since opening in July 2022, Amelia has established itself as a place to enjoy high-end cuisine.
Promising a brilliant mix of gastronomy, mixology and music, Amelia breaks the rules of fine dining but still serves an elevated experience.
The restaurant’s opulent interiors celebrate the Art Deco era, and the adventurous spirit of the 1930s, with the retro-futuristic steampunk-inspired theme making for a striking backdrop to dinner.
When it comes to the menu, Amelia has a blend of Nikkei cuisine with Mediterranean accents, showcasing a diversity of flavours and merging of cultures. Plus, there is a wide selection of dishes for both vegetarians and meat-eaters alike.
Signature dishes include super-fresh ceviches, including the lubina option, a blend of wild sea bass, chulpe, red onion, sweet potato, coriander and aji limo.
There are also tiradito and sushi dishes on the menu, as well as a high-end caviar selection.
Amelia’s signature hot dishes include iron pots and the robata and Josper grilled meats and seafood, which include tenderloin, sirloin and T-bone wagyu steaks.
More standout options include aji yuzu oysters, and the wagyu bao, which comes with shiitake mushrooms, baby rocca, fontina cheese and delicately balanced truffle cream.
Linguini is served with lobster, calamari and prawns and is lifted by aged Parmesan, before being bathed in Amelia’s signature kimchi cream.
Amelia prides itself on its mixology, too, making drinks with precision and creativity.
The signature drink, Forest-aged Vieux Carre, is inspired by the pairing of food and drink, making an extraordinary cocktail inspired by nature and barrel breathing.
A barrel rests with liquid inside and absorbs the flavours from the environment it surrounds; the mushrooms rooted in soil, wood branches, moss and rocks, running water and mist combined with Remy Martin VSOP, Bulleit bourbon and Mancino Vermouth with a little bit of Dom Benedictine, work with the umami flavours of the Shimeji mushrooms planted in the terrarium, creating a unique and exciting drink.
