Aretha Dubai is the place to be for live music this season, with the St. Regis Gardens venue promising showstopping experiences. The nightspot, which is open from Wednesday through Sunday, features entertainment from the Golden Era of music paired with enticing food and cocktails.
The venue is named after the legendary Aretha Franklin, who performed hits such as ‘Respect’, ‘I Say a Little Prayer’, and ‘Chain of Fools’. The décor and ambience are unmistakably from Franklin’s heyday; there’s the glittering disco ball to the mood lighting and very chic and elegant styling.
The party atmosphere builds as the evening continues, starting with relaxed, intimate piano numbers and progressing to high-tempo dance hits.
The experience features music from different genres, including disco, Motown, jazz, funk, R&B, and pop. Later in the night, the venue transforms into a full nightclub.
Every evening, a talented array of musicians and performers takes to the stage, ensuring an unforgettable trip through the classic music of the sixties and seventies. It’s not all about the music, though.
When it comes to dining, there’s a broad choice for all tastes, including rich dishes such as wagyu beef Rossini, grilled rock lobster, and Dover sole meunière, as well as premium additions such as caviar and oysters.
The must-try from the menu is the chef’s exceptional poached egg caviar, which comes with a crispy potato and Parmesan emulsion. A select menu of Dubai’s favourite dishes further elevates the whole experience.
For those looking to enjoy the nightlife rather than a full meal, lighter bites such as tuna tataki, beef carpaccio, and crispy calamari are available.
Beverage-wise, there’s a broad choice of champagnes and premium wines, along with some inventive signature cocktails named after many of the stars of soul singing, like James Brown, Smokey Robinson and Stevie Wonder. It’s a nice touch from the mixology department.
Aretha Dubai’s culinary offerings are refreshingly attention to detail, and when aligned with atmospheric music and toe-tapping beats, it’s a memorable way to spend an entertaining evening. That’s something to respect.
