Tasting menus have become more prevalent in the UAE over the past year, with some top-end menus often reaching AED1,000 before drinks.
But Celebrities by Mauro Colagreco, the Gault&Millau two-toque restaurant, is challenging that with an excellent value four-course meal coming in at AED310.
Is this the best value-tasting menu in Dubai? The four-course menu also comes with three amuse bouche, homemade bread and a palate cleanser to complete the line-up.
The menu, which stars signature dishes, starts with Beetroot: beetroot with pistachio, yoghurt and hibiscus followed by Egg: a slow-cooked egg with wild mushrooms, potato foam and black truffle.
For the main course, diners can choose from Catch of the day: grilled fish with green asparagus, black garlic and liquorice bearnaise foam or Beef: glazed beef ribs with apple, red cabbage and mustard.
The dessert is Citrus: Fontainebleau, yuzu and black lemon ice cream.
The menu comes from chef de cuisine Jonatan Motos Ferran, in a restaurant engineered by Italian-Argentine chef Mauro Colagreco. Chef-patron of Mirazur, on France’s Côte d’Azur. In Dubai, Colagreco’s Celebrities sit inside the opulent One&Only Royal Mirage.
The restaurant features a tucked-away bar area for pre-dinner drinks (including a range of cocktails inspired by famous Parisian landmarks), as well as a large private dining area. However, most guests will sit at the pristine dining tables overlooking the hotel’s gardens.
Celebrities was one of only seven restaurants to receive two-toque rating by Gault&Millau UAE in 2022.
