Jason Atherton has unveiled a new partnership with Dubai’s Grosvenor House Hotel which will see him open three new restaurants.
The British chef this week confirmed his new City Social Dubai will launch alongside Japanese-inspired Seven Tales and an as-yet-unnamed fine dining concept, spread across the 43rd, 44th and 45th floors of the Marina-based Luxury Collection Hotel.

The venues form the 15th international venture for Atherton’s The Social Company, and come alongside confirmation of the end of his tenure at the Gault&Millau UAE-listed Marina Social, Atherton’s original restaurant which opened at InterContinental Dubai Marina in September 2015.
Atherton said: “After seven successful years at Marina Social, I have taken the tough decision to end my partnership with Intercontinental Hotel Group. It has been a fantastic project to be part of and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the whole Marina Social team, IHG, Select Properties, Rahail and Antje, for believing in our vision and supporting a journey which is close to my heart. It is now time for a different direction and to bring a new style of dining to Dubai.”

While no opening date has yet been given for the new restaurants, a statement confirmed City Social Dubai will be a 140-cover restaurant, providing “the contemporary and innovative cuisine Atherton is renowned for,” while Seven Tides will focus on cocktails and the third mystery outlet will be “luxurious, with a refined tasting menu”.
