A chef from the age of 15, Spencer Metzger started his career in the kitchens of The Ritz, London working his way up to sous chef. He spent a year at one of the UK’s best restaurants, L’Enclume, in 2016 before returning to The Ritz. Metzger won the prestigious Roux Scholarship in 2019 aged 26 and was named a Master of Culinary Arts by the UK’s Royal Academy of Culinary Arts in 2022. He was head chef at The Ritz when he left to join Jason Atherton’s Row on 45 when it opened in Dubai last year. Since then, he has made a big impact at the restaurant.
Getting the chance to show off his skills up close during the 17-course tasting menu, Metzger shares his knowledge warmly and playfully, proving he’s as comfortable in front of guests as he is in the kitchen. This young chef is undoubtedly on the path to greatness.
