For the second year running, Burj Al Arab’s wine director Samuel Lacroix takes home the title of Sommelier of the Year.
With a hospitality career spanning over two decades, Lacroix has brought his extensive wine knowledge to Burj Al Arab Jumeirah since April 2022. In that time, Lacroix significantly influenced the wine selection across the hotel’s restaurants, bringing a rich variety of wines and some rare vintages fitting for such a luxurious establishment. At the end of 2023, he added a 1990 Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, priced at AED285,000, to the wine cellar.
As well as his role at Burj Al Arab, Lacroix is also a member of the Élite Sommelier UAE Group and is one of the most influential voices in the movement to further the UAE’s wine scene.
