ROSES DE JEANNE

The Roses de Jeanne house is located in the village of Celles-sur-Ource and was founded by Cedric Bouchard in 2000. Bouchard is recognised for his unconventional approach to champagne production and his dedication to expressing the terroir in his wines. It is a comparatively small vineyard with less than two hectares under vine, yet it’s famed for producing champagnes of remarkable quality and distinctive character. Each plot is treated as an individual entity with its own distinct microclimate and soil composition. This meticulous attention to detail allows Bouchard to create champagnes that genuinely reflect the nuances of each plot. The champagne is known for its purity and flavour intensity achieved through traditional winemaking techniques. Bouchard insists on using only the first press juice, ‘la cuvée’, and vinifies each plot separately. His champagnes are single variety, single vineyard, and single vintage – a rarity in the region. This, coupled with low yields and minimal intervention, results in champagnes that truly express the terroir found in every release.
