Where to drink Delamotte in Dubai

We have collated information regarding Delamotte Champagne House and where you can find it in Dubai and the UAE

In France, the homeland of Gault&Millau, a restaurant’s wine offering is as integral to its success as its food. Traditionally, however, that hasn’t been the case in the UAE, where drinks lists have generally been viewed as second to produce and service. When we launched the Gault&Millau UAE Champagne Index in 2022, our mission was to change that.

As the country’s fine dining scene continues evolving and gaining recognition as a global gastronomic hub, the dining experience is under increasing scrutiny. That means curating and developing a truly original non-alcoholic drinks selection in Dubai and Abu Dhabi’s unlicensed venues. In licensed venues, it means having a world-class wine list.

During our extensive research, which has been ongoing for over a year, some eateries said it was company policy not to share their wine lists. Others exclude vintages from their menus. More publish their lists without prices, and they vary significantly where those prices are available.

Below, we have collated information regarding Delamotte champagne and where you can find it in Dubai and the UAE.

Delamotte Champagne House

Maison Delamotte was established in Reims by François Delamotte in 1760 before being sold to the Lanson family in the 1830s. Marie-Louise de Nonancourt, a member of the Lanson family, took ownership and moved production to Mesnil-sur-Oger. She also went on to buy the at-that-time neglected estate of Laurent-Perrier. Her son Charles took over management of the house from 1948 to 1988, while his brother Bernard looked after Laurent-Perrier.

In 1988, Bernard de Nonancourt integrated the two and bought Delamotte’s neighbour, Maison Salon.

Since 1997, Didier Depond has managed Delamotte and Salon, developing the image and reputation of the two brands in more than 50 countries. Delamotte Champagne is characterized by its freshness and character and is produced from grapes sourced from vineyards in Champagne’s Côte des Blancs region.

Delamotte reserves wine from year to year to create blended wine in non-vintage styles.
